Last night we started our first “Tuesday Night Track Workouts”
Complimentary from Bike Barn Triathlon Club and Katy Boot Camps!
Every Tuesday, 6pm-7pm, at Beckendorff Jr High (Cinco Ranch)
Our workout last night was varied for individuals based on a “1, 2, or 3″ scale.
- 15 min warmup (5 easy, 5 med, 5 upper med pace)
- walk / regroup
- 5 min drills and warmup intervals
- walk / regroup
- Intervals (1 = 3 by 400 meter, 2 = 5 by 400 meter, 3 = 8 by 400 meters) – so the range of interval work spanned 3/4 of a mile to 2 miles….. 2′s and 3′s started first to limit down time for 1′s and 1′s ran a bit more easy mileage to limit downtime and increase run value for them.
- walk / regroup
- 400 meters easy warm down though I’d like to see up to 1 mile
- regroup
- 6 min stretch though 10 would be better (anyone want to be stretch captain?)

Do you have to be a member of the bootcamp to attend the track workouts
Nope – just come on out to either the Tuesday Night Track Workout or even better THE KATY BEER RUN AND SOCIAL which is an awesome weekly jog followed by free beer, free raffle w/ lot’s of goodies, free custom t-shirts on your 10th run and a different one on your 50th run, free food, and well over 100 people show up each Wednesday. Our bootcamp was actually the founder of this run! Hope to see you there!
